The Process

From cracked leather
to driving away.

No job is the same twice, but the process is. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you get in touch to the moment you're back behind a freshly stitched wheel.

01

Get in touch

Call, message, or fill in the enquiry form with a few photos of what you're after re-covered. Most quotes can be given over the phone once we know the make, model and what's damaged or being upgraded.

If you're not sure exactly what you want yet, that's fine too, talk it through with us and we'll point you toward what actually works for your interior and budget.

02

Choose your material

Genuine leather, vegan leather or Alcantara, in almost any colour and stitch combination. Browse the full materials page for the current colour card, or bring a sample of your own if you're matching an existing interior.

  • Colour and material confirmed before any cutting starts
  • Stitch pattern chosen: straight, diamond, or two-tone contrast
  • Thread colour matched or contrasted, your call
03

Book your car in

West Lakes, SA, by appointment. Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm, Saturdays by arrangement. Small jobs like a single steering wheel are often done same-day while you wait.

Interstate? We work with dealerships and individuals Australia wide, parts can be freighted to us and back.

04

Strip, cut, and stitch

Every piece is stripped back to its frame or foam, inspected for damage, and hand-cut to the exact shape of your part, not a generic pattern. Every seam is hand-stitched in-house, not outsourced, so we control the quality of every stitch from start to finish.

05

Fit and final check

The finished piece is refitted, checked for alignment and tension, and cleaned up before it goes back to you. Same-day turnaround is available on most steering wheel jobs.

Typical Turnaround

How long it takes.

A rough guide, actual timing depends on damage, material and how busy the bench is that week.

Questions

Common questions.

Do I need to book an appointment?
Yes, we work by appointment at our West Lakes workshop, Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm, with Saturdays available by arrangement. Call ahead so we can make sure your material is ready and the bench is free.
Can you match my existing interior colour?
In most cases, yes. Bring the car in or send photos in good lighting and we'll match against our colour card. Where an exact match isn't possible we'll talk through the closest options before any work starts.
Do you work on classic and modified cars?
Regularly. Daily drivers, classics, hot rods, dealership fleet vehicles and motorcycles all come through the workshop. If a part is discontinued or unusual we can often work from the original part itself as a pattern.
What if I'm interstate?
We work with individuals and dealerships Australia wide. Removable parts like steering wheels, gear knobs and handbrake covers can be freighted to us and sent back once finished.
Is there a warranty on the work?
Every job is checked for stitch tension and fit before it leaves the workshop. If something isn't right after fitting, get in touch and we'll sort it.
